EAANN encourages driving electric at Reno earth day celebration

A new location at Reno's Earth Day celebration (April 23rd) at scenic Idlewild Park, on the banks of the Truckee River, drew even more crowds as EAANN members showed off their cars and spoke to the many benefits of driving electric. Earth Day organizers said there were more than 350 booths, and the event was attended by about 30,000 visitors!

On hand: Chuck Swackhammer with his 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, Cynthia Ryan with her 2017 Chevrolet Volt, Humberto Valencia with his much anticipated Tesla Model 3 and Chevrolet Spark, Greg Wilson with his 2014 Chevrolet Volt, Ken Andrews with his Tesla Model S, Bob and LeeAnn Marsh with their iconic (and show stopping!) Tesla Roadster, and Rafael Garcia from Nissan of Reno with the all new 2018 Nissan LEAF - the world's bestselling electric car!

We wish to thank everybody who brought a car!

This event is always a favorite, since we can reach a large number of folks who are already inclined to be receptive towards driving electric to save the planet, combat climate change and save money.

Electric cars represent a future of transportation that isn't some hazy, far-off  vision, but a reality that is here, today.

Shined and pretty, the cars drew hundreds in our new location on the banks of the Truckee.

Tesla Model 3

Yeah, it's living up to the hype.

The new Tesla Model 3 doesn't disappoint. Maybe he'll let us drive it one of these days? (hint, hinty hint, Humberto!)

Thanks again to Nissan of Reno for their support, and for bringing the all new and exciting 2018 Nissan LEAF!

We want to thank Bob and LeeAnn Marsh for bringing the Tesla Roadster ( a Proof of Concept car) up from the Minden-Garderville area. It draws folks in to gawk, but they stay to see the other cars. And, thanks for the amazing pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, LeeAnn!
